'THE BLIND FROM THE GHOST CAVE' and 'GODAM & TIRA' Will Begin Production in the Second Semester of 2020

Kapanlagi.com - GUNDALA by Joko Anwar becomes the opening film of the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe franchise. The free adaptation of the late Hasmi's comic was able to collect 1.6 million viewers during its circulation last year.

Following SRI ASIH starring Pevita Pearce portraying the character of Sri Asih, the first female superhero in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Upi is appointed as the director and also the scriptwriter.

1. Si Buta, Godam, and Tira

When VIRGO AND THE SPARKLING and SRI ASIH are planned to be produced in the first semester of 2020, the second semester will add two more titles. First, there is SI BUTA DARI GUA HANTU directed and written by Timo Tjahjanto. Second, GODAM & TIRA starring Chicco Jerikho and Chelsea Islan.

"In the next few months, we will start producing films, starting with VIRGO AND THE SPARKLING and SRI ASIH. Then in the second half, we will produce SI BUTA DARI GUA HANTU and GODAM & TIRA," said Bismarka Kurniawan, the producer from Bumilangit Studio, interviewed at Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (1/2/2020).

2. Release Year

Although four blockbuster films are produced this year, only VIRGO AND THE SPARKLING will be released. The three films after that will fill the ammunition in 2021.

"Most likely, only VIRGO AND THE SPARKLING will be released this year. Next year, there will be three. It's more about the timing and the long process of scriptwriting, such as SRI ASIH, which requires a lot of research. As for shooting, it can take a month or two and a half months," said the man known as Koko.
