Unveiling the Reasons for Acting in the Film 'CROSS ROAD', Yusuf Mahardika: Thought About It, Couldn't Sleep

Kapanlagi.com - Yusuf Mahardika is involved in a film titled CROSS ROAD which will be exclusively released on the streaming platform KlikFilm starting November 15, 2024. Receiving a quite challenging role, Yusuf revealed the reasons he joined the film directed by Adis Kayl Yurahmah.

When first offered the film CROSS ROAD, Yusuf carefully read the synopsis and the description of the role of Yahya that he will play. From there, he felt that the film CROSS ROAD has a compelling story strength. In fact, Yusuf couldn't sleep after reading the provided synopsis.

"When I was given the deck for the first time, reading the synopsis made me think, and then I couldn't sleep. It felt like there was something bothering me, so I had to follow it to understand why there’s such a story and everything," Yusuf revealed when met at the Gala Dinner for the film CROSS ROAD, at RBOJ Coffee, Thursday (31/10).

"So this curiosity is what makes me want to participate here. When reading the script, it felt like wow, how will this be executed, how will the director treat the execution of things in the scenario," he continued.

Not much different from Yusuf, Jourdy Pranata and Maizura who are involved in this film also feel that there is something challenging. Not only in terms of the story but also regarding the characters of the roles they play.

"From the moment I read the synopsis and characters, it was quite challenging. I even have a lot of descriptions to explain my role. It can be said to be human, energy, figure or human. It's hard to define. That's why it's worth a try because it's different from my role in the previous film," said Jourdy.

"The journey of the film is quite interesting and challenging. In this intersection, Alita has a spiritual journey. Awakening in the same place with the same situation. Until the point of having to resolve the conflict between Budiman (Jourdy Pranata) and his past," added Maizura.

This film by director Adis Kayl Yurahmah tells the mysterious experience experienced by Alita, played by Maizura, when she accidentally meets Yahya, a character played by Yusuf Mahardika, on a quiet road when her car breaks down. In an uncertain situation, Alita receives a warning from her two new friends, Indah and Nia, to be careful of Yahya.

After her car was repaired and the night grew late, Alita decided to sleep in her car at the scene. However, this decision led Alita to a mystical experience that is hard to explain.

From strange sounds to mysterious shadows that evoke fear, each scene in CROSS ROAD is packaged with chilling cinematography that sends shivers down the audience's spine.

“This film not only showcases the horror aspect but also conveys a message to recognize instincts and intuitions when facing unusual situations. We hope the audience can enjoy the tension as well as the depth of the story presented by CROSS ROAD,” said Adis Kayl Yurahmah, the director.
