Vidio Reaffirms Its Position as the No. 1 OTT Platform in Indonesia

Kapanlagi.com - Vidio reaffirms its leadership as the number one over-the-top (OTT) platform in Indonesia with the highest number of paid subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2024. This is based on the latest report from AMPD, SEA Premium VOD Landscape (February 2025). This success further strengthens Vidio's position as a market leader in the Indonesian streaming industry.

According to the MPA report, Vidio recorded significant growth in the number of paid subscribers, reaching 4.7 million subscribers in December 2024, surpassing several global platforms. The main factors driving this success are a strong and innovative content strategy, including exclusive broadcasting rights for various prestigious sporting events and the production of Vidio Original Series that are increasingly popular among the Indonesian public, such as Zona Merah, Santri Pilihan Bunda, True Stalker, as well as local Indonesian films.

Meanwhile, Indonesia, as the largest market with rapid growth in Southeast Asia for Premium VOD services, has great potential for local streaming OTTs like Vidio. In 2024, the number of OTT or Premium VOD users in Indonesia reached 40 million people, increasing 2.7 times since 2020, which had only 15 million people.

1. Peak Viewing Time

Indonesia also recorded the highest viewing time figures in the region, with a total of 5 billion hours of OTT or Premium VOD viewing time throughout 2024, which is 2.5 times compared to 2020, which only had 2 billion hours. This shows the strengthening habits of the Indonesian people in consuming high-quality digital content.

A decade of Vidio's journey presents a variety of genres, sequels, adaptations, animations, and exciting surprises from local Indonesian works. In 2025, Vidio will present 14 titles with even more exciting surprises.

Among them, 9 new titles are Bad Guys, Mama-Mama Pengejar Cinta, Theo & Ruza, Roman Dendam, Benci Bilang Cinta, Jalinan Terlarang, Malam Pertama, Cinta Dalam Sujudku, and Sugar Baby. Additionally, there will be continuations of 4 popular series, namely Scandal 3, Santri Pilihan Bunda 2, Open BO 3, and Pertaruhan The Series 3.

3. New Breakthrough

In addition to a lineup of famous stars for Vidio Original Series, Vidio will also make a new breakthrough by presenting the adaptation of My Stupid Boss: The Animated Series. Based on the popular novel and film My Stupid Boss, this animated series follows the story of Kerani, who hopes to escape the chaos caused by Bosman after being transferred to a branch office in a small town in Sarawak.

However, Kerani's dreams are soon shattered due to the ongoing chaos caused by Bosman. Directed by Daryl Wilson, produced by Frederica, and featuring voice actors from the original cast such as Reza Rahadian, Bunga Citra Lestari, and Chew Kin Wah, we can look forward to Kerani's story in an animated version that is sure to be just as captivating.
