After Box Office Success, the Film 'HALABALA' is Ready to Rock BIFF 2025

After achieving box office success in Thailand, HALABALA is now stepping onto the international stage at BIFF 2025. This film presents a survival thriller story that combines horror, mysticism, and human conflict within a tense tropical forest atmosphere.

Directed by Eakasit Thairaat, HALABALA showcases practical effects typical of classic horror films, combined with a dark storyline filled with psychological pressure. This blend makes the film not only scary but also leaves a hauntingly realistic impression on the audience.

HALABALA tells the story of Dan (Ter Chantavit), a troubled police officer who is transferred to the Thailand border with his pregnant wife Wi (Nychaa Nuttanicha).

Dan is assigned to capture Tub (Pu Anon), a dangerous gang leader who has escaped and is hiding in the village of Batow in the Halabala forest.

The journey turns into a nightmare as the forest reveals oddities such as creatures styled from the 80s, primitive sounds, and a damp atmosphere that starts to shake Dan's mental clarity.

Dan discovers that the village of Batow is inhabited by an ancient cannibal tribe, with dark rituals and mystical totems that add a supernatural element amidst the horror survival atmosphere. Wi, who is pregnant, also feels the threat not only from nature but also from supernatural forces.

In the midst of the hunt for Tub, Dan is haunted by the question of who the real monster is that he must fight. Is it the villain, the Batow tribe, or himself?

The conflict reaches its peak when Dan must choose between completing the mission to capture Tub or surviving with his wife.
