Closing of Europe on Screen 2024: Announcement of SFPP Winners and Screening of 'EVERY YOU EVERY ME'

The Europe on Screen (EoS) 2024 Film Festival officially ended on Sunday (1606) with the screening of 75 films from 28 countries in 8 cities over 10 days. The festival concluded with the screening of a German film titled EVERY YOU EVERY ME and the announcement of the winners of the EoS 2024 Short Film Pitching Project (SFPP).

The closing event was held at Erasmus Huis Jakarta and was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Sandiaga Uno, the Ambassador of the European Union to Indonesia, Mr. Denis Chaibi, the Ambassador of Germany to Indonesia, Ms. Ina Lepel, the Deputy Head of the Dutch Kingdom Representation, Mr. Andriaan Palm, the Co-Director of the EoS 2024 Film Festival, Ms. Meninaputri Wismurti and Mr. Nauval Yazid, as well as ambassadors and diplomats from participating countries.

Mr. Sandiaga Uno highly appreciates the organization of the EoS film festival. "Europe on Screen has become evidence of the richness of stories that unite us despite crossing continents and cultures," he said. He also added, "EoS is not just a film festival, but also a bridge that connects Indonesia with Europe, fostering cooperation and mutual respect among filmmakers, artists, and audiences."

Mr. Denis Chaibi also believes that the festival is a platform to gather and witness stories from various backgrounds and reflect on different perspectives. "The meaning of this film festival is community, openness, and diversity. It is about the importance of the motto United in Diversity and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika," he concluded.

2. Screening of the Film EVERY YOU EVERY ME

EVERY YOU EVERY ME is a romantic drama film directed by Michael Fetter Nathansky that was screened at the closing of this film festival. EVERY YOU EVERY ME (2024) depicts the sadness of heartbreak and the beauty of falling in love. The film successfully entered the Official Selection for the Panorama Audience Award at the Berlinale 2024.

Ina Lepel, the Director General of Culture and Communication at the Federal Foreign Office, explained that the selection of EVERY YOU EVERY ME as the closing film is a sweet way to end the only film festival in Indonesia that presents many recent films from European countries curated with care.

3. Winner of the SFPP EoS 2024 Competition

According to Meninaputri Wismurti, the Co-Director of the EoS 2024 Film Festival, the EoS SFPP short film funding program has been held since 2018 as a platform to nurture the generation of Indonesian filmmakers and create interactions with European professionals. "As evidence, this year 80% of the SFPP finalists are from outside Jakarta, and we have increased the production funding prize by 40% compared to last year," she concluded.

Received a total prize value of Rp.27.5 million
