Joe Russo Reveals the Marvel Character He Actually Wanted to Use in AVENGERS ENDGAME, Who is It?

Kapanlagi.com - AVENGERS: ENDGAME has a large number of characters filling the big screen, especially during the emotional final battle between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Thanos. However, despite all those characters, there is still one Marvel character that Joe Russo wanted to use in this film.

If the Disney/Fox merger had happened earlier, there might have been a chance we could have seen another popular character's fight in AVENGERS: ENDGAME. According to Cinema Blend, Joe Russo recently spoke with them and revealed which character he wanted to include in the film. Here's what he said:

 "I mean, Wolverine has always been one of my favorite characters. INCREDIBLE HULK #181 was one of the first comic books I ever collected, which was the first appearance of Wolverine. Hugh Jackman has done an incredible job with that character over the years, and I think they should take a breather before someone else takes a crack at it," he said. 

Joe Russo's recent comments for ComicBookMovie.com are not too surprising. The Russo Brothers have long claimed to be fans of Wolverine, and a few years ago, Anthony Russo even said he would love to have Wolverine in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. Although they couldn't capture Wolverine, they were at least fortunate enough to get Spider-Man in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and their Avengers films.

"I think a lot of Marvel fans would agree that seeing Wolverine's fight in an Avengers film would be a dream come true. And, if the timeline works out, Hugh Jackman has claimed that he would also be game to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe." Unfortunately, it didn't happen and now a new actor has to use adamantium claws," he continued.

Although Marvel Studios can now officially use Wolverine, it seems they are not in a hurry to bring him back to the big screen. Kevin Feige hinted that they might bring the mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe during Phase 5, which is quite far away.

However, that doesn't stop Marvel fans from speculating on who would be the perfect actor to play Wolverine, with some wanting Henry Cavill to portray him in CAPTAIN MARVEL 2.

Whenever Marvel decides to cast, there will be plenty of actors lining up outside the door wanting to take that chance, including Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa. 

As for Joe Russo, he has been quite busy post-AVENGERS: ENDGAME, writing and producing the action film Netflix, EXTRACTION, among many other non-superhero films. It's hard to say if the Russo Brothers will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe but, if they do, I would definitely be excited to see them tackle a Wolverine film.
