Margot Robbie just revealed an interesting fact about her involvement in the film WUTHERING HEIGHTS. It turns out, the BARBIE star was not originally planned to play Catherine Earnshaw in this adaptation of the classic novel by Emily Bronte. This gothic romantic film, scheduled for release in 2026, will also pair Robbie with Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, the iconic couple full of suffering.
Since her promotional tour video went viral and Robbie's romantic-gothic fashion style became the center of attention, this film has everyone talking. Moreover, the cast lineup is impressive. From Alison Oliver and Owen Cooper to Ewan Mitchell and Shazad Latif, they all come together in this ambitious project. Robbie and her husband, Tom Ackerley, are also involved as producers through LuckyChap Entertainment.
But behind the hype, Robbie revealed something quite surprising. According to her, she was actually not part of the initial casting plan. "I was not always planned to be in that film," Robbie explained while appearing on The Graham Norton Show with Elordi, as reported by marieclaire.co.uk.
