MovieTalk 'DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS': Explore the Parallel Worlds of the MCU that Holds Horror

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS is the latest film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that will be released in theaters this May. As evident from the title, this sequel will present the chaos of the multiverse (parallel worlds) that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) must handle. 

The concept of the multiverse has been introduced in previous MCU films, such as SPIDER-MAN NO WAY HOME. And in that film, Doctor Strange also plays an important role. He is portrayed as one of the MCU superheroes who understands the multiverse. "What we understand about the multiverse is very limited" he said in the film SPIDE-MAN NO WAY HOME. 

In this film, there will be many depictions of the diverse multiverse of the MCU and it will present unusual (read: fantastic) visuals. Get ready to witness captivating yet also terrifying and horrifying visuals. 

The story in DOCTOR STRANGE begins with the emergence of a new character named America Chavez. She has magical powers to open portals between worlds in the multiverse. Her abilities make her pursued by magical creatures. If you have seen the trailer, some of these magical creatures are in the form of a one-eyed octopus. 

Fortunately, America meets and is saved by Wong and Strange. On the other hand, these two Earth's protective sorcerers are also surprised because there is someone who can travel between worlds like America. 

America's presence brings a new perspective to the MCU, what if there is someone who can easily jump between parallel worlds like her? One thing is for sure, she becomes a target for those who want to exploit her power. 

The role of Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) in this film is still a question mark. What is clear is that Baron sees Strange's existence as a threat to the stability of the multiverse.

Dealing with the multiverse and the magical world, there is no better person than Wanda aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). This time, Strange asks for her help to save America and solve the mystery of the multiverse.

Wong plays a vital role here as he holds the title of Supreme Sorcerer. It's interesting to see the development of this character, from being a librarian in the first film to becoming a top-class sorcerer.

The multiverse is not only about variants but also other dangerous things. From the trailer alone, there are already three magical creatures shown, Gargantua (a one-eyed octopus), Zombie, and a bandage-shaped monster chasing America Chavez.

Wanda who assists Strange seems to have her own agenda. She still cannot move on from the image of her two children who, although illusions, have left a deep impression on her heart. Will she try to find them in another world?

Christine Palmer, who is the love interest of Doctor Strange, is eagerly anticipated in this film. In the trailer, she appears to have a different appearance. Does this mean there will also be a variant Christine Palmer?

Doctor Strange undergoes a significant transformation here. From being a surgeon to becoming a sorcerer, there is undoubtedly an inner turmoil he experiences.
