The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2025 opened with the premiere of the documentary film JOHN CANDY: I LIKE ME. This film directed by Colin Hanks is a warm tribute to the late John Candy, a legendary Canadian comedy icon from the 70s to the 90s.

Ryan Reynolds was present on the red carpet as the film's producer. The Vancouver-born actor and entrepreneur appeared in a casual-elegant style, showcasing his pride in his Canadian roots. This documentary not only highlights Candy's comedic side on screen but also the struggles behind his long career. Through this project, Reynolds demonstrates his commitment as a creator who is not only known in front of the camera but also seriously works behind the scenes. JOHN CANDY: I LIKE ME is scheduled to be released globally on Prime Video this coming fall.
