Sony Pictures has just released the trailer for the film BAD BOYS 4 starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The official title of this film is BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE.

This is the fourth film in the popular action-comedy franchise that made its debut in 1995, when Smith and Lawrence first worked together as Miami Police detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, who investigate drug trafficking in Miami.

The first BAD BOYS film was released in 1995 and starred Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. BAD BOYS 2 was released in 2003. Then, the third film in this franchise, BAD BOYS FOR LIFE, was released on January 14, 2020 and successfully continued the story in the next installment. After several years without any news, BAD BOYS 4: RIDE OR DIE will now be released in 2024.

Martin Lawrence and Will Smith have been confirmed to reprise their roles as Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey in the film BAD BOYS 4. Additionally, several cast members from Bad Boys for Life will also be returning, including Vanessa Hudgens as Kelly, Alexander Ludwig as Dorn, and Paola Núñez as Captain Rita Secada. Although not appearing in Bad Boys for Life, Gabrielle Union is likely to appear in the fourth film as Syd, Marcus' sister. Theresa Randle, who portrayed Marcus' wife in the previous three films, will be replaced by Tasha Smith.

This Sony film will be released on June 7, this is Smith's first blockbuster film since slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. The film also marks the return of directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the filmmakers behind Batgirl, which was canceled by Warner Bros in 2022.

The duo known as Adil & Bilall achieved great success with BAD BOYS FOR LIFE, which was released just before the coronavirus pandemic closed theaters and became the highest-grossing film in 2020.

There was a seventeen-year gap between the release of BAD BOYS 2 in 2003 and BAD BOYS FOR LIFE in 2020. The latter was released in theaters just before the pandemic caused its delay, but still managed to generate $426.5 million in global box office revenue.

In January, Smith and Lawrence announced this fourth installment through their social media by sharing a reunion video titled, "THE AWAITED TIME HAS COME!"
