Writer and Director Brad Bird Returns to Direct 'INCREDIBLES 3'

Pete Docter also confirmed that Brad Bird, the writer and director of the previous two INCREDIBLES films, will return to lead the INCREDIBLES 3 project. However, Pete did not provide further details regarding the continuation of the story or production details of the film.

The first film THE INCREDIBLES, released in 2004, tells the story of a family of superheroes who are forced to hide from society after the government banned superhero activities. According to Variety reports, the film grossed over US$ 630 million or around Rp 9.6 trillion at the global box office, combining action and family drama.

Meanwhile, INCREDIBLES 2, released in 2018, achieved massive success with a global gross of US$ 1.24 billion or around Rp 18.97 trillion. This film became one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time until it was eventually surpassed by INSIDE OUT 2, which managed to collect US$ 1.56 billion or around Rp 23.87 trillion.

The announcement regarding INCREDIBLES 3 comes amidst the euphoria of the success of INSIDE OUT 2, which has just been released and has already surpassed the box office earnings of INCREDIBLES 2 as the highest-grossing Pixar film of all time.
