15 Thai Dramas Adapted from Popular Korean Dramas, Similar But Different Taste

Thai dramas, or commonly known as lakorn, some of them are adapted from Korean dramas. So don't be surprised if you feel familiar with the story when watching Thai dramas. But don't worry, these dramas are official adaptations, so they have obtained permission from the original creators. (Note: The adaptations of BOYS BEFORE FLOWERS and PLAYFUL KISS are not mentioned here, as the original Korean dramas were adaptations from Japanese comics).

The popular drama Rain and Song Hye Kyo, FULL HOUSE, was adapted in Thailand in 2014 starring Mike D'Angelo and Aom Sushar. Mike D'Angelo became extremely popular after starring in a drama about the love story of a top actor in a contract marriage with a female writer.

PRINCESS HOURS, which made Yoon Eun Hye and Joo Ji Hoon famous, was adapted into a Thai drama in 2017. Tao Sattaphong played the crown prince, and Pattie Ungsumalyn portrayed the main female character.

MY GIRL was also adapted into a Thai version in 2018. The characters played by Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hye were portrayed by Pae Arak and Esther Supreeleela, respectively.

Remember COFFEE PRINCE starring Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye? In Thailand, its adaptation aired in 2012 starring Mac Wiranakarn and Maxine Inthiporn. The story remains the same about a girl who pretends to be a boy to work at a cafe.

VOICE is a popular thriller drama in Korea that has been made into four seasons. In Thailand, this drama was adapted in 2019 with the same story about a woman who has a special ability to hear voices. The drama stars Pancake Khemanit and Andrew Gregson.

The Thai adaptation of the thriller drama TUNNEL is about a detective who travels 30 years into the future while chasing a killer in a tunnel. The Thai version is played by Top Todsapol.
