5 Similarities Between BTS' 'Dynamite' and BLACKPINK's 'Ice Cream', Have You Realized?

BTS' 'Dynamite' successfully debuted at #1 on the Billboard Chart Hot 100, while BLACKPINK's 'Ice Cream' has been viewed over 165 million times on YouTube. Interestingly, there are several similarities between these two singles. What are they?

1. Carrying the Theme of Self-Motivation

For a long time, BTS has always campaigned about Love Yourself, including in their latest single Dynamite. RM and his friends invite you to realize that life is sweet and beautiful. Everyone has talents that, if continuously honed, can create a boom like dynamite. It can be seen from the lyrics, “Life is sweet as honey... I'm diamond, you know I glow up. Hey, so let's go”.

Not much different from Dynamite, Ice Cream also wants to encourage you to always maintain self-confidence. Dynamite and Ice Cream are guaranteed to boost your mood, especially when enjoyed while watching their music videos. Yup, the concept of these two songs' music videos is incredibly cheerful and colorful. Dynamite is presented with colorful backgrounds and beautifully designed settings that are a feast for the eyes. Ice Cream is equally captivating, where from the first second, you will be indulged with delightful props and super cheerful ornaments. Supported by the colorful and stylish outfits of the members, it's truly a visual treat. 

3. Having Nada Dancy with International Taste

Another similarity that you can find from Dynamite and Ice Cream is the tone and taste produced. Both are presented so well with a very dancy and ear catchy song. The beat and tempo will remind you of international DJs and producers' works, such as Calvin Harris or Jonas Blue. 

Another factor can also be seen from the packaging side. Dynamite became BTS' first song packaged in full English. Meanwhile, Ice Cream, although only a snippet part uses Korean language, mostly also uses English. This is also supported by the chosen international collaborator, Selena Gomez. 

4. Sama-sama Menampilkan Koreografi Prima

The release dates of the two hit singles are not far apart, because both were released at the end of August. The Music Video Dynamite by BTS was released on August 20, 2020, while Ice Cream by BLACKPINK was uploaded a week later on August 27, 2020. Coincidence or intentional, what do you think?
