6 Clarifications and Confessions of Youtuber Daud Kim Regarding His Sexual Harassment Actions

As is known, Daud is a popular Korean Youtuber in Indonesia. One of the reasons is because this man, who is also a singer, decided to convert to Islam in September 2019.

Knowing that his case has gone viral, this singer did not stay silent. Through his Youtube channel, Daud uploaded a 6-minute clarification video to thoroughly address the issue.

In his video, Daud admits the accusation of committing sexual harassment. However, he states that it happened in June 2019, before he converted to Islam.

Daud narrates how he met two foreigners while he was drunk alone at a nightclub. Afterwards, they agreed to meet at the victim's place. The incident occurred while Daud was heavily intoxicated and unaware.

"Because I was very drunk and in a bad condition, he offered to take care of me. After we talked for a while, I fell asleep on the sofa. When I woke up, someone was screaming and shouting at me. And I fell down the stairs. They yelled at me and said they would report to the police. I panicked and ran away from the place as quickly as possible," Daud explains.

2. Realizing the Fatal Mistake

Afterwards, the victim reported the incident to the police station. Daud was then called in for questioning. Although unaware and unable to remember his actions, after listening to the victim's confession, Daud realized that he had committed a fatal mistake.

"Initially, I thought I didn't do it because I couldn't remember. I thought I wasn't a bad person like that. But after listening to them, I felt something was wrong. I also felt guilty," he added.

3. Already Settled

Furthermore, Daud emphasized that this case had already ended in July 2019 when he mustered the courage to apologize. The victim decided to forgive Daud and withdrew the report.

"He asked me to apologize, so we met on July 5, 2019. I sincerely apologized and he accepted it. There were even documents involved. I then handed over those documents to the police and the report was canceled, so I didn't receive any punishment. Thus, this case was legally resolved," Daud recalled.

4. Apology Post

In addition, there is one more condition that the victim requested from Daud. They asked for the famous youtuber to upload an apology post on his Instagram account. Daud agreed to it, although shortly afterwards, he chose to delete the post.

"A month later, I deleted that post because I was afraid of being criticized. I know this is not right, I sincerely apologize," said Daud.

5. Reasons for Daud Kim's Conversion

This incident is what led Daud to repent and convert to Islam. He truly felt guilty and wanted to repent to redeem his mistakes.

"A year ago, I felt very lost and broken, so I decided to become a Muslim and try to be a better person. I repented to Allah for a year. I thought that if I repent sincerely, I can be forgiven. I always pray to be guided towards the right path," said Daud while shedding tears.

6. Taking Responsibility for His Mistakes

At the end of the video, Daud once again apologizes for the mistakes he has made. The apology is not only directed towards the victim, but also to all the fans who have believed in him and supported him.

"I also apologize to all the subscribers who were shocked and disappointed. Alhamdulillah, I have converted to Islam now. Now I know why we should not get drunk and why men should treat women well. For a year, I have been trying to be a good person. I repent every day. But the most important thing is to take responsibility for what I have done. That's why I made this video. Once again, I apologize to him and everyone who has supported me," Daud concluded.
