Park Min Young finally made a comeback to the Korean drama world after a year-long hiatus with 'MARRY MY HUSBAND,' which premiered on January 1, 2024. Although the beginning of 2024 seemed promising for her, the actress was known to have faced quite a heavy challenge in the past year and a half due to her dating scandal.

In September 2022, Dispatch revealed Park Min Young's relationship with controversial businessman Kang Jong Hyun. After the article was released, the couple announced that they had broken up. Kang Jong Hyun was later arrested on February 2, 2023, on charges of fraud, embezzlement, and stock market manipulation, in which Park Min Young was also investigated for alleged involvement in the chaos.

Press conference 'MARRY MY HUSBAND' held online on January 1, 2024, was attended by the main cast and drama director. On that occasion, Park Min Young discussed the controversy that dragged her name by saying that it made her difficult, so she was hesitant whether she could be involved in the drama.

"Honestly, in the past year, my body, health, and mind have all suffered. So, I wondered if I could take on this project when the director called," said Park Min Young.

Park Min Young mentioned that she "lives with regret every day" during that crisis period. Because of that regret, she underwent a brain activity test with a psychiatrist, where the results reached a dangerous level as the red warning signals flashed.

Reflecting on her past, Park Min Young said that difficult times made her realize where her true happiness lies, which is acting.

"It feels like a lesson where I realize my 'beauty and shine' only when I immerse myself in acting on the filming location, as I used to do before," Park Min Young recalled.

"I have now accepted everything, and I want to address the discomfort I caused. I wish I had done this sooner, but now that I am in better health, I sincerely apologize to those who love and care for me. I have always tried to be an actor that you can be proud of for 20 years, but now I have many regrets. I am striving to be better, so please support me," Park Min Young expressed.
