A Gift for a Friend, Younha Gives a Free Song for the OST 'QUEEN OF TEARS' Starring Kim Ji Won

Younha candidly revealed that she allowed the drama 'QUEEN OF TEARS' to use one of her songs without receiving a single penny on 'Radio Star'.

Quoting from SBS Star, Younha said, "Actors Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun star in 'QUEEN OF TEARS'. The production team contacted me and asked if they could feature my song 'Waiting' in the drama. Then they asked how much it would cost to use my song."

The singer admitted that she replied, "Just consider it a gift because this is Ji Won's drama." This fact surprised everyone in the studio.

Younha smiled and continued, "Although it's not a large amount of money, it made everyone happy, including me. I feel very happy that the drama became a huge hit."

When one of the hosts, comedian Kim Gu Ra, asked about her friendship with Kim Ji Won, Younha said they were in the same agency when they first debuted.

Younha recounted that she and Kim Ji Won were not very close at the beginning of their introduction. "But we weren't that close back then. Just a regular sunbae and hoobae," she recalled.

"Ji Won loves music and is good at it. She sings well and plays the piano. In fact, she performed as a pianist in one of my music videos. One time, she joined me on stage during a music show to play the piano as well," said Younha.

Younha then shared an episode that brought her and Kim Ji Won closer, "After leaving the agency before Ji Won, I always regretted not paying more attention to her."

"Then one day, I found out that Ji Won played a role in 'DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN' (KBS drama). I decided to contact her. It was a bit awkward to talk to each other after such a long time. However, because she is a kind and sincere person, Ji Won responded warmly," she added.

"We slowly became close after a long time since then, and now we are close friends," she concluded.
