Because of 'SQUID GAME', a Korean Netizen Receives 24-Hour Terror

However, there have been some unexpected incidents caused by this drama starring Jung Jo Yeon. One netizen in Korea was subjected to 24-hour phone terror as a result.

All of these incidents began with the appearance of a business card in SQUID GAME episodes 1 and 2. The business card, which had a triangle, circle, and square on the front, displayed a mobile phone number. Only the first 3 digits of the number were deleted.

2. Making Viewers Curious

Who would have thought, this made viewers curious and they tried to contact the number using the area code. The city of Seoul itself has the area code 010. And it turned out that the number had an owner.

3. Flooded with Phone Calls

Unfortunately, there was one owner of that phone number. Because of the mischievous actions of SQUID GAME viewers, they felt terrorized by receiving non-stop phone calls for 24 hours."I received calls and messages non-stop 24 hours a day, after the airing of SQUID GAME. It got to the point where I was stressed and worried about going about my daily activities," they said to Koreaboo.

4. It's Been 10 Years Using That Number

Meanwhile, the owner has been using that number for 10 years, but because of SQUID GAME, he had to busy himself blocking the numbers that came to his phone.

"At first, I didn't know why suddenly many people were contacting and sending messages. I was just busy blocking those numbers until my phone battery ran out. Until finally, a friend told me that my number appeared in SQUID GAME," he continued.

Due to the negligence of the SQUID GAME production team, Netflix is currently resolving this issue in the right way. However, based on the laws applicable in South Korea, exposing personal information to the public without any censorship is subject to a fine of up to 50 million Won or around Rp604 million.
