Bullied and Accused by Netizens of Insulting Indonesians, Sunny Dahye Reports to the Police

Kapanlagi.com - YouTuber Sunny Dahye reports an anonymous Instagram account for alleged defamation and slander on electronic media to the North Jakarta Metro Police, Friday (20/8/2021). There are 12 Instagram accounts and 3 Twitter accounts included in the report.

Sunny Dahye's report is represented by her legal counsel, Ditho Sitompoel and Philipus Sitepu, as well as her manager, Syafira Andryana. Meanwhile, it is known that Sunny Dahye is currently in South Korea.

"Reporting the alleged criminal act of the ITE Law, article 27 paragraph 3 and 27 paragraph 4, defamation on electronic media and slander, and threats of violence directed at our client," said Ditho Sitompoel.

"We have reported this criminal act to the North Jakarta Metro Police, so we hope that the police can soon arrest the perpetrator for bullying and spreading false news about our client," he added.

1. Sunny Dahye Does Not Feel Guilty

In addition, the legal counsel stated that Sunny Dahye herself feels confused about the reason she was accused of demeaning Indonesians. The situation became even more chaotic when an anonymous account spread false news about her.

"Actually, we question this account because it was in a conversation with someone who verified the account and then it was posted and reposted, which led to the assumption, but this is still one side, that's why we came out and denied everything. Yes, we reported this account," said the lawyer.

According to him, Sunny Dahye feels that she has never done anything offensive or demeaning to Indonesia. Dithi mentioned that Sunny herself respects and studies in Indonesia.

"No, there isn't, until now we can say there isn't," he added.

The report by Sunny Dahye has been submitted to the North Jakarta Metropolitan Police with the police report number LP: LP/B/515/VIII/2021/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKUT/POLDA METRO JAYA. Sunny Dahye's name suddenly became a trending topic on Twitter because she was accused of demeaning Indonesians.

The accusation against the South Korean YouTuber who is popular in Indonesia started from a direct message from a netizen uploaded on the Instagram account @sunnyisaliar2, allegedly the netizen is someone close to Sunny in Korea. In the confession, the netizen claimed that Sunny had insulted Indonesians by calling them stupid and poor.
