Taeil ex NCT is facing serious criminal charges in a case that ensnares him. On June 18, 2025, the first trial for the suspected group rape case was held at the Central District Court of Seoul.

In the trial, Taeil admitted to all the charges brought by the prosecutor. However, they denied the accusation of forcing the victim to go home.
The perpetrators have also made a confession letter and reached an agreement to settle with the victim.
Taeil, who expressed remorse for his actions, hopes for leniency from the prosecution.
If his hopes are granted, Taeil promises not to repeat his mistakes and will work hard to engage in activities that help the community.
However, Taeil's request did not sway the prosecution's decision. They stated that the charges filed were appropriate.
Moreover, it was revealed that Taeil had hidden the fact that he was a perpetrator of sexual violence.
He was proven to still be active as usual, including communicating with fans via live on June 14, 2024, a day after the incident.
Furthermore, the prosecution revealed allegations that the actions taken by Taeil and two other defendants were premeditated.
However, this charge was denied by Taeil's legal counsel, who stated that the perpetrator only wanted to drink again with the victim after leaving the bar.
Currently, Taeil is known to be working part-time. "Previously I was a singer, I have been fired by my office, now I am doing light part-time work," said Taeil at the first trial.
