On Thursday (19/10/2023), Korean media reported that the top star referred to as L is suspected of drug abuse in an entertainment venue. Initially, the media only provided clues about who L is.
Based on the clues given, such as age (in his 40s) and marital status, many netizens were able to guess. They mentioned that L is 'vongole', which is a signature line of Lee Sun Kyun in the drama PASTA.
Shortly after, the Incheon Police Office issued a statement about the identity of this person L.
"It is true that Lee Sun Kyun used marijuana and paid a large sum of money to a drug dealer. Although we need to conduct an investigation, we suspect that he was extorted by the dealer because of his fame," said the police.

Lee Sun Kyun's agency has also made a statement.
"We are currently verifying the accurate facts regarding the allegations against Lee Sun Kyun. We plan to diligently and honestly comply with the inspector and the investigation that will be conducted in the future."
Meanwhile, the Incheon police also stated that besides Lee Sun Kyun, there are other parties involved in this case, including third-generation conglomerates and aspiring new artists.
