aespa is scheduled to release a pre-release single on May 11, 2026, as part of their latest album. The song titled 'WDA (Whole Different Animal)' will be launched at 6:00 PM KST along with its MV.
SM Entertainment has also shared an official teaser via social media. This comeback marks the first step towards the release of their second full album, 'Lemonade', at the end of May.
The song 'WDA (Whole Different Animal)' was chosen as a pre-release that gives a glimpse of the concept of the new album. The title itself hints at the unique transformation that aespa is ready to showcase.
Not only audio, aespa also directly presents the MV upon release. This strategy allows fans to immediately enjoy the visuals and concept of the song in full from day one.
In the concept photos, the members are seen interacting with mysterious black winged creatures, enhancing the dark fantasy aura that captures attention.
The creature resembles a winged horse with a scorpion tail. This creature also has horns and a wide mouth complete with sharp teeth.
Not only the appearance of the mysterious creature, the visuals of the four aespa members also steal the spotlight in the teaser photos that have been released ahead of their comeback.
The members appeared with blackened fingertips and long nails, sharp spines growing on their backs, and black wings resembling the creature mentioned earlier.
Their appearance surely makes fans even more eager to see what other surprises aespa will bring in this comeback.
The second full album titled 'Lemonade' will contain a total of 10 songs, including 'Whole Different Animal' as one of its tracks.
