Kapanlagi.com - The Netflix drama SWEET HOME is directed by Lee Eung Bok, who is known for his successful dramas in Korea and Indonesia, including DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN, GOBLIN, and MR SUNSHINE. The drama, which aired on December 18th, has captured the attention of Korean drama lovers. Many of them are tense with the storyline and the monsters that appear.
A dark and mysterious drama with a contrasting title. Yapp, SWEET HOME was chosen as the title, just like the webtoon of the same name by Kim Kan Bi and Hwang Young Chan, which was first released in 2017. So what does SWEET HOME actually mean?
"The story does not start off 'sweet' at all. Although it takes a long time for them to become a family, in the end, they will become a family that needs each other and has an emotional story, making it a 'sweet home' for everyone. Maybe at the beginning, you might think the story is a bit ironic, but in the end, you will agree that this film is a 'sweet home'," said Lee Eung Bok.

As we know, especially for those who have watched SWEET HOME, this drama tells the story of the residents of Green Home apartment with mysterious events in their surroundings where humans turn into monsters. The director who will present his latest drama titled MOUNT JIRI explains the concept of Green Home that he portrays in the film.
"Because we filmed in a closed location throughout the episodes, I tried to represent the 'monsterization' stage with light coming from the outside and the transformation of the building. The building initially had a cover at the entrance, then replaced with walls, followed by collapse and open spaces. In the process, I tried to depict the various stages of what the residents of the apartment feel through changes in lighting and barricades. Various elements of ancient and historical buildings are combined in the structure of Green Home apartment," explained the director who also worked on the drama DREAM HIGH.
Lee Eung Bok is known for his successful films not only in Korea but also how his dramas and films are appreciated and enjoyed by drama lovers outside of Korea, including Indonesia. He chose SWEET HOME to be the drama project he directed. So, what is his reason for deciding to work on this film?
"I like the ironic story that happens when a boy decides to commit suicide but instead turns into a monster and saves many people. Each episode is full of intense scenes, and that's why I feel like I have to direct this film." Lee Eung Bok concluded.
