Dian Sastro Cries Touched by Dita Karang's Voice in Secret Number's Debut MV

Kapanlagi.com - Dita Karang successfully made her debut with Secret Number through the MV Who Dis. The girl from Yogyakarta, who studied at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York, became the first woman to pursue a professional career in the K-Pop music industry in Korea.

With her educational background and dancing skills, Dita successfully occupies the position of a dancer. However, she also delivers some verses in her girl group's debut single. Who would have thought that her voice would captivate Dian Sastro, who described Dita as having the most pleasant voice. Not only that, Dian even admitted to being moved and shedding tears.

"I have to say, when I saw your debut MV, there were some verses where you were solo, and honestly, your voice is really good. As someone who is not a singer, your basic talent is dancing, and you're really good at it. I don't want to compare because I try to avoid comparing one woman to another, but to be honest, your voice is the best there. In my opinion, at least. I was moved," said Dian during her Instagram live with Dita Karang on her account, Sunday (24/5).

1. Proud that Dita Can Represent Indonesia

Dian's admiration doesn't stop there. She describes Dita as a cool person because she manages to display her uniqueness even though there are other talented members in Secret Number who are good at singing.

"How can your voice be so good? You're really cool. Your friend has a high-pitched voice, but your voice has great articulation. I'm really happy that Indonesia is being represented. It's time for the world to see proud Indonesian children," she continued.

2. Dita is Surprised to Hear Her Own Voice

When she heard the final result of her music video, Dita admitted that she was surprised. She herself joined as a trainee and debuted because of her dancing skills, not her singing voice. 

"I didn't join as a singer. They needed dancers at that time. I myself felt that I had a little skill in singing," she said.

With confidence at the beginning, she then seriously honed her singing skills with the help of teachers and various classes. She constantly asked for feedback, especially when she had to sing in Korean. So, during the preparation for recording, I often asked if I sounded like a Korean. Despite that, I was surprised when I received a lot of love (positive appreciation) from people," she added. 

3. Wants to Keep Growing

Going forward, Dita believes there are still many opportunities for her to develop herself as a K-Pop idol. Especially now that she has successfully overcome the difficult period of being a trainee and has achieved debut.

"I still want to keep growing. I still have a lot of room for improvement. This is the first time I've tried singing. But for this song, I have done my best. I remember during practice, it felt like rapping while singing. The tempo of the verses is really fast," she is confident.
