Drama Criminal Thriller 'CONNECTION' Coming Soon Only on Vidio, Starring Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do

Kapanlagi.com - At the end of May, Vidio is once again presenting Korean drama fans with a new show titled CONNECTION. This drama comes with a story that is heavily influenced by the crime, thriller, and mystery genres.

The drama has released a teaser through SBS social media accounts and has reached 167,000 views. The success of this teaser shows that the presence of the CONNECTION drama is highly anticipated by Korean drama fans this month.

This drama is a collaboration between director Lee Tae Gon and writer Lee Hyun, who previously worked together on the JTBC drama DIARY OF A PROSECUTOR. CONNECTION brings together two senior actors from South Korea who have successfully starred in popular dramas, Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do, as the main cast.

Ji Sung plays Jang Jae Kyeong, who is a detective in the Anhyeon Narcotics Division of the Police. Having a heavy and dangerous task, Jang Jae Kyeong chooses to keep his distance from his surroundings such as friends, fellow police officers, and even his own family.

1. Death Reveals the Dark Side of Friendship

Jang Jae Kyeong is a detective who is forced into drug addiction because of someone. This addiction ruins his life, compounded by the tragic incident of his close friend's death. However, this death is not the end but the beginning of everything.

It turns out that this death is a clue to the dark side of their 20-year friendship, as he died leaving behind a 5 billion won insurance money. This large amount raises questions about the hidden dark side.

On the other hand, Oh Yoon Jin (Jeon Mi Do) is a reporter with a strong personality who was unjustly fired from her previous job. After that, Oh Yoon Jin decides to return to her hometown, Ahnyeon, and join as a reporter for the Ahnyeon Daily Economic Newspaper. While working, Oh Yoon Jin unexpectedly has to collaborate with Jang Jae Kyeong to uncover a corruption case that is apparently related to her friend's death.

Ji Sung is among the well-known multitalented stars of Korea. This handsome actor has played many successful dramas, films, and TV shows, which have helped elevate his name. Known by his real name Kwak Tae-geun, he is recognized as a versatile actor. He has portrayed numerous characters in dramas with his amazing acting skills. It's no wonder Ji Sung has received many prestigious awards for his talent.

The drama CONNECTION marks Ji Sung's comeback after his last role in the drama ADAMAS in 2022. After making his acting debut in 1999 with the drama KAIST, Ji Sung gained more recognition from the public and actively starred in many popular drama series, such as ALL IN (2003), SECRET LOVE (2013), KILL ME, HEAL ME (2015), DOCTOR

Jeon Mi Do is a South Korean actress who made her debut in 2006. She debuted with the musical theater titled Mr. Mouse. Jeon Mido has starred in several famous musical dramas, such as Doctor Zhivago, Sweeney Todd, and Maybe Happy Ending.

Jeon Mido has won various awards throughout her acting career, one of which is the Best Actress award at the Korean Musical Awards in 2017 and 2018 consecutively. CONNECTION is the fourth drama played by Jeon Mi Do.

Over time, Jeon Mi Do's name has become widely known to the public, especially after her attention-grabbing role in the Korean drama HOSPITAL PLAYLIST, where she appeared as the lead actress. Thanks to her acting in HOSPITAL PLAYLIST, she also managed to bring home several Best New Actress awards at various award shows, such as Brand of the Year Awards 2020 and 7th APAN Star Awards.

4. About Kwon Yool

Kwon Yool is an actor who made his acting debut as a lead actor through the drama MACKEREL RUN (2007). As a senior actor, Kwon Yool's name is already familiar because he often plays roles in various dramas such as VOICE 2 (2018) and WHISPER (2018).

In addition to being an actor, Kwon Yool has also had the opportunity to be a host at events such as the 27th Busan International Film Festival and the 19th Gwanghwamun International Short Film Festival. As a successful actor in many dramas, in 2017 Kwon Yool won the Top Excellence Award Actor at the Korean Drama Awards.

In his latest drama CONNECTION, Kwon Yool plays the role of Park Tae Jin, a prosecutor at the Anhyun District Prosecutor's Office who has sharp thinking and exceptional networking skills. Park Tae Jin is a trusted aide to Won Jong Soo (Kim Kyung Nam) and a key member of the "inner circle" friends who clash with Jang Jae Kyung and Oh Yoon Jin. Park Tae Jin has a calm face, but at the same time, he emits a strong aura with a sharp gaze and firm expression.

5. About Kim Kyung Nam

Kim Kyung Nam is an actor who made his debut in 2012. As an actor, Kim Kyung Nam recently got his first lead role in the drama SPECIAL LABOR INSPECTOR (2019). Kim Kyung Nam is known for his roles in the dramas PRISON PLAYBOOK (2017) and THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH (2020).

Thanks to his role in COME AND HUG ME (2018), he received the Best New Actor award at the MBC Drama Awards. When playing a role in REVOLUTIONARY SISTERS (2021), he had the opportunity to contribute to the original soundtrack titled Okidokiya (Rock Ver.).

In CONNECTION, Kim Kyung Nam plays the character of Won Jong Soo, vice chairman of Geum Hyun Group, who has everything, including money and power. Won Jong Soo is a "circle inside" leader, a group of friends who are on the opposite side of Jang Jae Kyung (Ji Sung) and Oh Yoon Jin (Jeon Mi Do) who pursue the truth, and he is a powerful figure among them. Won Jong Soo is a genius in deception who has studied the law of the jungle since a young age. He is obsessed with success and seeks recognition from his father due to his deep-seated inferiority complex from being born on the wrong side.

Although he is the youngest actor among the cast of CONNECTION, Kim Kyung Nam strives to eliminate the awkwardness of acting as a leader in the drama.
