A star-studded parade colored the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup held at Estadio Azteca, Mexico City, on Thursday, June 11, 2026, local time. Singer and songwriter EJAE also performed before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa.
The musician, known for the song "Golden" from the animated film KPOP DEMON HUNTERS, joined several special guest singers. His presence became a proud moment as he introduced Korean elements through the official tournament song titled "DNA".
EJAE is one of the performers at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup. The announcement was made by FIFA ahead of the opening match taking place in Mexico.
In this special event, EJAE performed alongside legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli to present the official song of the 2026 World Cup, "DNA".
The South Korean singer expressed that he is very touched to be part of FIFA's official anthem. For him, this opportunity holds great significance in his career journey.
"Being part of the official song for the FIFA World Cup means a lot to me," said EJAE. He is also proud to have written the lyrics in Korean for the song.
EJAE stated that performing on an international stage while representing South Korea is an honor. This moment has become a special achievement that is hard to forget.
The musician, born on December 6, 1991, recalls the 2002 World Cup in Seoul as one of his best childhood memories.
"The feeling of togetherness is what I remember from the World Cup, and I am grateful to be a part of this year's edition," he said.
