Entered in Many Oscar 2020 Nominations, 'PARASITE' Makes New History!

Kapanlagi.com - Academy Awards or better known as the Oscars has announced a number of films that have entered each category for this year. One that catches attention is the film PARASITE directed by Bong Joon Ho.

Quoting Variety on Monday (13/1/2020), PARASITE makes new history in this prestigious award. This is because the film, released on June 21, 2019, becomes the first South Korean film to be nominated for Best Picture and Best International Film.

1. Receive Many Nominations

Not only that, PARASITE also received not just one nomination in this year's Oscars. The film starring Cho Yeo Jeong, Park Seo Dam, and Choi Woo Sik entered into 6 nominations at once.

Since its release, this film has received very positive responses from film critics. PARASITE itself was released last year at the Cannes Film Festival.

2. Win Many Awards

Before being nominated at the 2020 Oscars, PARASITE had previously won several prestigious awards. The most amazing thing is that this film also became the first South Korean film to receive the Palme d'Or award, the highest award at the Cannes Film Festival.

Bong Joon Ho himself is known for frequently directing quality films in Korea. Previously, a film he directed titled MOTHER was also nominated for an Oscar. Unfortunately, the film did not succeed in bringing home an award at that annual event.
