F4 Comeback on Stage, Nostalgia for Meteor Garden Erupts and Their Reunion is Anticipated

On Saturday night, July 12, 2025, the roar of the audience at Taipei Dome erupted when Mayday, the legendary Taiwanese pop-rock band, invited four of the most iconic men of the early 2000s onto their stage. Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Ken Zhu, and Vic Zhou, better known as F4, performed Meteor Rain with the Mayday band ensemble behind them. This surprise moment immediately triggered a flood of flashbacks and waves of nostalgia among netizens, where videos of F4's performance went viral within minutes after their appearance ended.

The history of F4 began in 2001 with the drama series Meteor Garden, an adaptation of the manga Boys Over Flowers by Yoko Kamio. Their performance on the small screen skyrocketed their name across Asia, leading Sony Music Taiwan to contract them as an official boyband named F4 (Flower Four).

Between 2001-2007, the group released three studio albums: Meteor Rain (2001), Fantasy 4ever (2002), and Waiting for You (2007), as well as held the Fantasy Live World Tour which attracted hundreds of thousands of spectators in various countries.

Among the timeless songs, Meteor Rain is clearly the most associated as the main theme of Meteor Garden. Additionally, the Mandarin version of the single Can't Help Falling in Love was released in the album Meteor Rain.

In addition, other hit songs by F4 include Can't Lose You, Seasons of Fireworks, Te Amo, Di Yi Shi Jian, Ask For More, and Waiting For You.

Meanwhile, in individual news, Jerry Yan last appeared in the drama The Forbidden Flower in 2023. He will next appear in Marriage Exposed alongside Ariel Lin. Meanwhile, Vic Zhou's latest dramas are Reblooming Blue and The World Between Us Season 2.

Vanness Wu himself just returned to the acting world in 2025 through the drama Faith & Fire. As for Ken Zhu, he has indeed been rarely seen on screen. He last acted in 2017.
