Atiek CB's News: Still Rocking at 62 Years Old, Regularly Climbing Mountains - More Active Than Ever

Amidst the clamor of digital music and instant trends, the name Atiek CB continues to shine as an irreplaceable legend. With her distinctive hoarse voice, character-filled performances, and timeless songs, she became a symbol of female strength on the Indonesian music stage from the 80s to the 90s. The title "Lady Rocker" is not just a label; she truly embodies it in every rock beat she delivers.

Now at the age of 62, Atiek CB proves that the spirit never retires. Not only is she actively back on stage, but she is also beginning to conquer high peaks in Indonesia. From Lawu to Rinjani, she continues to show that age is not an obstacle to creating and exploring. Anyone who thinks she has stopped is clearly mistaken; Atiek CB is actually at a new peak in her life.

Atiek CB is not just a singer; she is an icon of Indonesian music deeply ingrained in the minds of the 80s and 90s generation. Her career began in the small town of Kediri, East Java, while she was still in junior high school. She joined CB Band—a name that would later become her stage identity. Her singing talent continued to be honed until high school, where she often performed on TVRI Surabaya and started to gain public recognition. The peak came when she moved to Jakarta and released the album Transisi in 1984. The song Risau from that album was a huge success and immediately placed Atiek as one of the most influential female solo singers of her time. The nickname “Lady Rocker” was given to her because of her distinctive raspy voice and energetic stage style.

One of the strong characteristics of Atiek CB is her sunglasses. Her mysterious and stylish appearance is inseparable from this accessory. The story began during the photoshoot for the cover of the album Transisi, when photographer Farid Hardja lent his sunglasses to Atiek. It turned out that everyone involved felt that the style suited her perfectly. Since then, Atiek has always appeared with sunglasses, making them a part of her identity, even to this day.

Despite that, Atiek never relinquished her Indonesian citizenship. In an interview, she admitted that living abroad was too calm and made her feel restless. “I am still Indonesian,” she said in an interview, emphasizing that her homeland remains her true home.
