Five Years Have Passed, Here's the News of the 9 MIXNINE Members Who Failed to Debut!

The survival show, which was under YG Entertainment, had participants from various different agencies. The reason why the final team members failed to debut was because YG Entertainment couldn't find a common ground that all agencies could agree on.

After failing to debut together with MIXNINE five years ago, some members have debuted in groups under their respective agencies. And some of them returned to their original groups.

Woo Jinyoung, who was ranked 1st in the survival show MIXNINE, debuted with D1CE in 2019. However, the lifespan of the boy group was not long. D1CE officially disbanded after 3 years and 5 months in January 2023. The D1CE Entertainment, which managed the group, was disbanded because their exclusive contract had expired.

2. Kim Hyojin ONF

After failing to debut with MIXNINE, Kim Hyojin returned to his original group, ONF. Hyojin has the responsibility as the leader in his group. And the latest news is that Hyojin, along with other ONF members, has just completed their mandatory military service together.

3. Lee Rubin Ex 1TEAM

Lee Rubin successfully debuted with 1TEAM in 2019. Unfortunately, the group only lasted for 2 years and officially disbanded in 2021. Now, Lee Rubin has switched gears and become a tattoo artist.

4. Kim Byeongkwan A.C.E

Kim Byeongkwan returned with A.C.E after failing to debut in that survival show. In A.C.E, Kim Byeongkwan serves as the main dancer, vocalist, and rapper. Currently, Byeongkwan is fulfilling his mandatory military service in KATUSA, the Korea Augmentation to the United States Army.

5. Choi Hyunsuk TREASURE

After MIXNINE, Choi Hyunsuk participated in another YG Entertainment survival show called YG TREASURE BOX. Hyunsuk successfully debuted with Treasure in 2020. Now, he takes on the responsibility of being the leader in that YG Entertainment group.

6. Song Hangyeom OMEGA X

Song Hangyeom debuted with 7 O'Clock in 2017, in the same year he participated in the show MIXNINE. Boy group 7 O'Clock officially disbanded after 4 years since their debut. Now, Song Hangyeom has debuted again in the group OMEGA X in 2021.

7. Kim Minseok Ex ONF

Kim Minseok, also known as Laun, previously joined the group ONF together with Hyojin. However, he left the group in 2019 due to personal reasons.

8. Lee Donghun A.C.E

Currently, Donghun is back with his group A.C.E and is actively involved in the entertainment industry. In A.C.E, Donghun is responsible as the main vocalist. Recently, he officially changed his stage name from Donghun to his full name, Lee Donghun.

9. Lee Byounggon CIX

After MIXNINE, Byounggon returned to participate in the survival show YG TREASURE BOX, but did not make it into the debut lineup. Now, Byounggon has officially debuted as the leader of CIX. He also changed his stage name to BX.
