Hongbin VIXX Provokes Anger from K-Pop Fans During Twitch Broadcast, Agency Apologizes

Kapanlagi.com - On the evening of February 29, 2020, Hongbin did a live broadcast on his personal Twitch channel while drinking. During his broadcast, VIXX member Hongbin made comments about the songs of several K-Pop idols, such as SHINee, Red Velvet, EXO, and Infinite.

"Who combines idol music like this with band music? It's really bad" Hongbin said while watching a video of SHINee performing the song Everybody while listening to the theme song of the anime Digimon. In addition, Hongbin also criticized the choreography of Infinite's Be Mine, "If I were them, I would punch the choreographer!". As reported by Soompi, Hongbin's comments immediately sparked anger from netizens and fans of the respective groups.

A few hours later, Hongbin did a live broadcast to apologize for his words and actions in the previous broadcast. Hongbin stated that he positioned himself as a fan and made those comments without much thought.

I sincerely apologize to the artists and fans who were hurt by my inappropriate words and actions during my previous late-night live broadcast.

I also apologize to the members of VIXX and the fans for causing them worry.

There is no justification for my words and actions, regardless of the reasons. I truly reflect on my thoughtless behavior.

Once again, I sincerely apologize to those whom I have disappointed.

I promise not to do such things again and will reflect on myself. I truly regret it."

Our artist, Lee Hong Bin, has caused suffering and concern for other artists and their fans with his words and actions during his private live broadcast. We sincerely apologize.

We also sincerely apologize to the fans who have supported VIXX and Hongbin all this time.

We take responsibility for the words and actions of our artists and are reflecting on ourselves. We will carefully manage our artists to prevent such issues from arising again in the future.
