The announcement was made during a Q&A session with the main cast, Hyun Bin, Jung Woo Sung, Woo Do Hwan, and director Woo Minho at the Disney+ Originals Preview event at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Set in Korea in the 1970s, "Made In Korea" Season 1 follows the story of Baek Kitae, an ambitious KCIA agent living a double life. Driven by his thirst for power, Kitae works as an agent by day and becomes a smuggler by night.
Smart, charismatic, cunning, and reliable, Kitae quickly rises through the ranks after using his smuggling operations to strengthen his power, protect his brother, and generate a large sum of money for his agency. Seemingly unstoppable, there is only one thing standing in his way: a tough prosecutor who cannot be bought, bribed, or influenced. With everything at stake for both men, this series will follow the battle between two determined figures set on bringing each other down.
Starring Hyun Bin as agent Baek Kitae, Jung Woosung as the tough prosecutor Jang Geonyoung, and Woo Dohwan as Kitae's younger brother Baek Kihyun. "Made In Korea" is written by Park Eunkyo ("Sea of Tranquility", "Mother") and Park Joonseok ("A Normal Family"), directed by Woo Minho ("The Man Standing Next", "Inside Men"), and produced by Hive Media Corp ("Inside Men", "The Man Standing Next", "12.12: The Day").
