Ji Chang Wook Willing to Try a New Style for His Character in 'GANGNAM B-SIDE', Said to be Very Different from His Original Character

Kapanlagi.com - Ji Chang Wook greets drama fans again through GANGNAM B-SIDE which can now be watched on Disney+ Hotstar. Here he plays Yoon Gil Ho, a 'criminal' in the Gangnam area involved in the case of several people missing including Jae Hee (played by BiBi).

Yoon Gil Ho's character here can be said to be very different from Ji Chang Wook's original persona. He is able to portray Yoon Gil Ho as a delinquent. When asked how he was able to 'transform' for his role, Ji Chang Wook praised the other staff in GANGNAM B-SIDE.

"This is all the result of the amazing work of the makeup team, hairstyle, and also lighting. This character has a tough life and I want to show that through his style. He is also made to always have wounds to show how tough the life he leads is and that he is always in a fight," explained Ji Chang Wook at the press conference for GANGNAM B-SIDE some time ago.

Ji Chang Wook also has a reason why the character Yoon Gil Ho dresses like that. He wants this character to attract the audience's attention.

"When he is among many people, I want this character to stand out the most, showing him as a dangerous figure. So he is made to dress extravagantly, unlike how I usually do," said Ji Chang Wook.

2. Always Praise the Staff

When asked if Ji Chang Wook looks sexy for this character, once again he praised the drama team. He also explained again how he wanted to highlight the figure of Yoon Gil Ho.

"When I first read the script, I wanted to show something different. I wanted to show that he lives in underground. Not that I’m saying I want to transform, but this is a different character. So I focused on the details for clothing, makeup, accessories, how to hold weapons, hairstyle. But external factors (staff support) also helped a lot," he concluded.
