Lee Dong Wook & Kim Hye Jun Talk About Their Characters in the Drama 'A SHOP FOR KILLERS'

Kapanlagi.com - The latest Korean drama, A SHOP FOR KILLERS, will soon be airing on Disney+ Hotstar on Wednesday (17/1) tomorrow. Ahead of the premiere, director Lee Kwon and the cast recently held a virtual press conference.

In the virtual press conference held today, Monday (15/1), Lee Dong Wook, Kim Hye Jun, Seo Hyun Woo, Jo Han Sun, Park Ji Bin, and Geum Hae Na were present. They spoke about the roles they play in the drama A SHOP FOR KILLERS.

Lee Dong Wook, who plays the character Jeong Jinman, said, "So he (Jinman) runs a shop for killers, he is Jeong Jian's uncle. He wants Jian to be strong and independent, so it's not surprising that he educates him harshly yet protectively. I, who usually have a sweet, funny, and playful personality, had to be cruel for this character."

For those of you who don't know, A SHOP FOR KILLERS tells the story of a college student named Jeong Jian, who takes refuge in her childhood home after a series of highly skilled assassins target her. Struggling desperately to survive, Jian will begin to remember the valuable lessons her uncle taught her before his shocking death, and use them to help her stay alive.

When asked about her character, Kim Hye Jun started giving a little hint about Jeong Jian. Unexpectedly, after Jeong Jinman's death, she lives as an orphan facing the cruelty of life.

"Jian lost her parents when she was young, so she was raised by her uncle. After hearing the news of her uncle's death, she also found out about her uncle's shop. That put her in danger and made her a target for the assassins," said Kim Hye Jun.

2. Jeong Jinman's Past

After discussing the two main characters, Park Kyung Lim, the host, became curious about Jeong Jinman's past. She asked Lee Dong Wook who this mysterious figure really is.

The handsome 42-year-old actor replied, "He is actually a former mercenary. After discussing with the action director, we wanted to present action scenes typically used by special military forces."

Furthermore, Lee Dong Wook admitted that he had difficulty with his action training this time because it was different from what he had experienced throughout his career. Not only did he have to train with firearms, but he also had to appear skilled in using his special knife, especially the dagger.
