On January 11, 2024, Jang Yoon Ju attended the premiere of her latest film 'CITIZEN OF A KIND'. This film follows the story of a housewife who becomes a victim of voice-phishing fraud and tracks down the scammer with the help of her friends.
On this occasion, Jang Yoon Ju revealed her struggle against a disease she has been suffering from for the past 15 years.
"Honestly, I suffer from hypothyroidism, so I am a woman without hormones. I have been taking medication for this disease for 15 years. Doctors have always told me that I should not expend energy on TV and film," Jang Yoon Ju revealed.
According to Mayo Clinic, Hypothyroidism is a condition in which a person's thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones.
Furthermore, Jang Yoon Ju also discussed how she prepared for her role in the film 'CITIZEN OF A KIND'.
"I thought long and hard about how I wanted to portray the character Sook Ja. She is very straightforward, and I worked hard so that when I appeared in the film, it would refresh the audience," she said.
As is known, Jang Yoon Ju is one of the successful models and actors in South Korea today.
