She became the champion in the Indonesia Open S1000 event and defeated the second seed, Ratchanok Intanon, in straight games 21-17 and 22-20. She also defeated Indonesia's representative, Ruselli Hartawan, in the round of 32.

Not only that, a week earlier, An Se Young also became the champion in the Indonesia Master event by defeating the top seed from Japan, Akane Yamaguchi, 21-17 and 21-19. She avenged her defeat against Akane in the previous match, which was the French Open 2021.
