Lost Members, These 10 Boybands Continue to Have a Career and Full of Achievements: EXO - iKON

From there, the boyband will be tested by various challenges, one of which is losing a member. Yes, sometimes a team has to let go of their member's departure for various reasons. However, they eventually rise and continue their career with the remaining members.

Proving the strength of a group, here are some K-Pop boybands that can still have a career, even though they have been left by some of their members.

1. Super Junior

Super Junior is one of the K-Pop boy bands that has been able to maintain its existence, even up to almost 15 years. During that period of time, they have been left by 3 members, each of whom left for different reasons. In 2015, former member Kibum ended his contract because he wanted to focus on acting, while six years earlier, Hangeng resigned first due to his dispute with SM Entertainment. One more member of Super Junior who had to leave the group is Kangin, he chose to leave after getting involved in several legal issues such as drunk driving.

2. EXO

2014-2015 was the toughest year for EXO and their fans, EXOL. This is because the group, which debuted in 2011, lost 3 of its Chinese members one after another. It started with Kris terminating his contract in May 2014, followed by Luhan leaving 5 months later, and finally Tao deciding to resign in early 2015. Despite this, the remaining 9 members of EXO stayed strong and continued their careers until now.

3. Monsta X

Another boy band that experienced the departure of its members is Monsta X. Monsta X had to let go of their visual member, Wonho, due to allegations of drug use. Despite being left out during their comeback period, Monsta X continued to work professionally and successfully completed their promotional activities. They also continue to produce new works with the remaining members.

4. iKON

In 2019, iKON's leader Kim Hanbin or B.I decided to leave the group after being involved in a drug use allegation case. Even though they no longer have a leader, this group under YG Entertainment continues their career! They even released a new mini album in February 2016. Did you know that B.I was still involved in that mini album? He even participated in creating some songs for the album titled I DECIDE.

5. WINNER

Many of us may think that WINNER only consists of 4 members. But actually, they debuted with 5 members! Unfortunately, Nam Tae Hyun had to leave the group due to health reasons. Fortunately, WINNER was able to overcome that obstacle and still exist until now.

6. TVXQ

TVXQ is known as a duo group, but in fact, this group debuted with five members consisting of Changmin, Yunho, Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu. However, in 2009, Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu decided to leave TVXQ after filing a lawsuit against their agency. Despite being only two members, Changmin and Yunho were able to maintain their group and became known as the most successful duo under SM Entertainment.

7. THE BOYZ

At the beginning of their career, THE BOYZ had to part with one of their members, Hwall, due to a leg injury. Never giving up, this group under Cre.kerz Entertainment continued their music career with the remaining 11 members. Fortunately, the name THE BOYZ became more recognized after participating in the show ROAD TO KINGDOM.

8. Stray Kids

Woojin's departure in 2019 certainly still leaves a deep impression in the hearts of Stay, the fans of Stray Kids. However, the group led by Bang Chan was able to rise and continue their journey to success as they are now. Pretty cool, right?

9. AB6IX

When preparing to release their second album, AB6IX faced a tough challenge as one of their members, Lim Youngmin, left the group after being arrested for drunk driving. Not dwelling in sadness, AB6IX finally continued their delayed comeback with the remaining 4 members.

10. Big Bang

Scandal that befell the maknae of Big Bang, Seungri is one of the major events that shook the K-Pop industry. It was so intense that Seungri decided to withdraw from the entertainment world and of course also leave Big Bang. Despite being left with only four members, Big Bang continued their career and even scheduled to perform at the biggest music event in America, COACHELLA.

Although no longer complete, the above boy bands can still maintain their existence in the Korean music industry. They continue to fight hard with the remaining members. It's really admirable, right?
