NewJeans Opens Up About the Feud Between Min Hee Jin and HYBE, Hanni Complains About Being Ignored by Another Group's Manager - Wants ADOR to Be Like Before

Kapanlagi.com - NewJeans finally spoke out about the feud between their producer, Min Hee Jin, and the agency HYBE. FYI, Min Hee Jin has been announced as no longer being the CEO of ADOR but will continue to be a producer for NewJeans.

After remaining silent for a long time, the five members of NewJeans held a live broadcast on YouTube on Wednesday (11/9/2024). They expressed their opinions and desires regarding this issue.

"We prepared this live broadcast because all five of us have something we want to convey. What we want to say is especially for HYBE. We have had a meeting with the company's management team and expressed our opinions, but based on what happened after that, it seems that what we wanted was not conveyed and communicated well," said Hyein, as reported by Soompi.

1. Want Min Hee Jin to Become CEO of ADOR Again

One of the reasons they made that live broadcast was to express their desire for Min Hee Jin to return as CEO of ADOR. Danielle also conveyed that wish.

"Even before debuting as NewJeans and spending a lot of time with CEO Min Hee Jin, we felt that the music we wanted and the world we wanted to build together, our vision, were aligned in many ways. With CEO Min Hee Jin, we can prepare for every task with a sincere heart, and I believe that shows in our work. Putting our sincere effort into something can only happen if the people working with us can trust each other and share the same mission," said Danielle.

"CEO Min Hee Jin is not just someone who produces music, but also someone who made NewJeans what it is today. She discusses even the smallest details with us and explains them in a way that we can understand well. NewJeans has a clear color and tone, and that was created by CEO Min Hee Jin. She is essential to the identity of NewJeans and we all feel that she is irreplaceable," added Danielle.

2. Hanni's Story Ignored by Another HYBE Group Manager

A shocking thing was then conveyed by Hanni. This Vietnamese blooded member recounted an unpleasant incident when she heard another group's manager ignore her while she was in the HYBE building.

"I was waiting alone in the hallway one day and members of another group walked past me, along with one of their managers. We greeted each other nicely. But when they came back a moment later, their manager said in front of me, 'Ignore her', even though I could hear and see everything. Thinking about it now, I still don't understand why I had to experience something like that," said Hanni.

"I told our new CEO about this, but he said there was no evidence and it was too late to do anything about it. Seeing him overlook this, I felt like we lost a protector, and I felt he didn't care about us. And I had told him honestly, but it felt like I was the liar. Previously, CEO Min Hee Jin fought a lot for us. The new executive team said they would help us, but they just made excuses and said it was just an incident that they also couldn't do anything about," Hanni continued.

3. NewJeans Not Suitable with ADOR's Current Working Method

NewJeans then explained about Min Hee Jin's new role at ADOR. But that also became a concern for Minji and the others.

"Our new management said they would separate production and management, but we are always directed differently from other labels. Now, Min Hee Jin no longer has the power to confirm or approve everything, so how can we continue to work like we used to?" said Minji.

"In the past, ADOR's way of working was to run business management and creative production without separation, and that was a factor that played and worked in harmony with one another. That was how it used to work, and it was fine. That was our way of working and the way our CEO produced NewJeans content, which you could enjoy and appreciate. But now he is no longer the CEO, the factors that should continue to work in tandem are now seen as two different areas of work," Hanni continued.

4. Afraid of Not Being Able to Continue the Dream

NewJeans already has many dreams and plans for the future. Now they are afraid they won't be able to realize all of that with the new management team.

"As I mentioned before, this is our dream to be able to showcase the music we want to create together with Min Hee Jin, and we used to work hard together for that dream. But now we can no longer reach those dreams; we might not even be able to continue with the plans that have been made," added Danielle.

"Personally, I want to continue working with the people around me who have helped my mentality grow and helped me feel the push of life’s strength within me, for which I am grateful, but I don’t understand why external teams keep interfering and disturbing us. I don’t know if I need to understand this," said Haerin adding her voice.

5. Tahu Min Hee Jin No Longer Becomes CEO Through Media

Hyein also shared that they found out about Min Hee Jin no longer being CEO of ADOR through media reports. This surprised them greatly.

"We found out about the CEO being dismissed that day through the media. Honestly, it was very sudden and unexpected for all of us who are going through tough times. As artists under HYBE, such a unilateral announcement from the company makes us feel like they don't value us at all. And at a time when we are in confusion, the manager said that the new CEO wanted to greet us," Hyein recounted.

6. Don't Believe HYBE Will Help

Hanni also said that she can't fully trust HYBE, even though they promised to ensure that NewJeans could continue working with Min Hee Jin. Hanni also mentioned that NewJeans would not just comply blindly.

"We have the choice to decide how we react to every situation, and we will not follow every request from HYBE blindly. We are more than aware that this has affected our work and that we should be treated much better than we are now. And it's very hard to believe that they truly want to help us continue working with CEO Min Hee Jin. Even though she is currently facing legal conflicts, she is expected to plan and produce creative things for our future in just two months, which personally makes no sense to me at all. We do not want to hear empty words about how they will help us continue working with CEO Min Hee Jin. And we all want this legal issue to be resolved and for our work environment to return to normal as it was before," Hanni said.

7. Want Min Hee Jin to Become CEO Again and ADOR to Return to How It Was Before

NewJeans closed their live broadcast by making several requests. They want Min Hee Jin to become CEO of ADOR again.

"Please return the CEO to her position and please bring ADOR back to how it was before, not a new environment that is not familiar with new, foreign people," said Hyein.

"From a human perspective, I want you to stop disturbing our CEO Min Hee Jin. Honestly, she is very pitiful, and this only makes HYBE look like an inhumane company. What can we learn from a company like this?" added Danielle.

"What we want is the original ADOR where Min Hee Jin is the CEO and where management and production are united. The reason we are making this request is that this is the only way we can reconcile with HYBE without having to fight the company. If our opinions are conveyed well, we hope Chairman Bang and HYBE will make the decision to restore ADOR to its former state on the 25th. Thank you for listening to us," concluded Minji.
