K-Pop fans must have often heard about the numerous K-Pop MVs that are not allowed to be aired on television, especially on South Korea's national channels, for various reasons. These reasons range from the use of profanity, mentioning a specific brand, being too erotic, and many more. Although these MVs have achieved impressive international success, some Korean television stations still select which K-Pop MVs are suitable to be broadcasted in the land of ginseng. So, do any of your favorite idols have MVs that are banned from airing in Korea? Let's check out the list below!

The first position is BLACKPINK with the MV Kill This Love. This MV was once banned from airing on KBS because it showed a scene of Rose not wearing a seatbelt while driving a car. KBS considered this as a violation of traffic rules.

Then there is BTS with the MV Dope. KBS also banned the airing of this MV on their station because it contains lyrics that are considered too vulgar and could have a negative impact on viewers.

KBS once again boycotted an MV from a K-Pop boy group, WINNER. The MV titled Island was banned from airing on KBS due to the presence of homosexual connotations in its lyrics. This is because South Korea still strongly rejects the LGBTQ+ movement.

Once again, KBS caused a commotion, this time banning the MV Catallena by Orange Caramel from airing. KBS deemed the scene to be demeaning to human values as it depicted the members as mermaids wrapped in plastic and dressed as sushi on rice.

There's also NCT 127 with the MV Cherry Bomb that was initially banned from airing on KBS. The song, written directly by Taeyong and Mark, contains lyrics that are considered violent and could have a negative impact on teenagers.

Then there's EXO with the MV Lotto which was also banned from airing on KBS. This is because Lotto was seen as representing a specific brand and had an abbreviation for the word 'lottery'. In response, SM Entertainment changed the word lotto to Louder so that EXO could perform on KBS.

PSY with the MV Gentlemen which was also banned from airing on KBS. KBS itself banned it because it showed a scene of kicking a traffic cone and laughing at the camera. KBS deemed such behavior inappropriate to be shown to the public.
