Kapanlagi.com - Dreamcatcher is a girl group from South Korea that debuted on January 13, 2017 with the single album Nightmare under the management of Happy Face Entertainment. Previously, Dreamcatcher debuted under the name MINX in 2014 with only 5 members. However, in November 2016, Happy Face, as their agency, announced that MINX would redebut with a new name and concept, which is Dreamcatcher, and also added 2 new members. In 2019, their agency changed its name from Happy Face Entertainment to Dreamcatcher Company.

Consisting of 7 members, namely JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon. Different from other girl groups, Dreamcatcher carries a dark concept. JiU is the oldest member and the leader of the group. Her real name is Kim Minji and she was born on May 17, 1994, in Daejeon, South Korea. Her positions in the group, aside from being the leader, are lead vocal, lead dancer, and visual.

JiU was a former member of MINX before becoming Dreamcatcher. She also participated in the survival show MIXNINE and ranked 95th. She calls herself the 'Pink Princess' because she loves the color pink. Despite being the oldest member, JiU acts like the maknae (youngest member). She has a cute expression and can act expressively with her face.

Jiu enjoys listening to songs in the rock and heavy metal genres. She idolizes Baby Metal, a heavy metal group from Japan. JiU made a cameo appearance in the web drama HORORONG STORY. If she didn't debut with Dreamcatcher, she would have opened a macaroon shop or become a police officer.

2. SuA

SuA is the second oldest member in the group. She was born on August 10, 1994 in Changwon, South Korea and her real name is Kim Bora. She is responsible as the main dancer, lead rapper, and vocalist.

SuA is a former member of MINX, she also participated in B-girl Competition. SuA is the member who trained the longest, which is for 5 years. She can quickly learn and remember choreography, then help other members learn the choreography. Her hobbies are watching dramas and drawing.

Her role model is BIGBANG, she also likes TVXQ. SuA likes elephants, she and Siyeon are fans of Avengers. Her charm is her cool personality.

3. Siyeon

Original name Lee Siyeon, born on October 1, 1995 in Daegu, South Korea, is the main vocalist in the group. On January 28, 2020, she released her debut single titled Paradise.

Siyeon is also a former member of MINX, she also participated in the survival show MIXNINE and ranked 97th. Siyeon can imitate the voices of various characters such as Pikachu, Squirtle, and Psyduck. She is skilled at playing the piano, likes the color blue, and enjoys playing games. Like SuA, Siyeon is also a fan of the Avengers.

Siyeon likes rock genre songs, therefore she likes the Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK. Siyeon has sung the OST for the K-Drama LOVE & SECRET together with One Junn Boys Republic titled Two Of Us.

4. Handong

Handong is the only member of Dreamcatcher who is from China. She was born on March 26, 1996 in Wuhan, China. Her position in the group is vocalist. This member with blood type O auditioned in Korea on the orders of her professor. She appeared in a musical during high school. Handong has a shy personality, and if she didn't debut with Dreamcatcher, she would have become a flight attendant.

Handong has the nickname 'Dongdong' from Yoohyeon, her groupmate. She likes chocolate, but when she eats it, she sneezes. For the time being, Handong is unable to participate in Dreamcatcher's activities because she is participating in the survival show Idol Producer YouthWithYou in China.

5. Yoohyeon

Yoohyeon, whose real name is Kim Yoohyeon, was born on January 7, 1997, in Incheon, South Korea. Her position in the group is lead vocalist. She studied German and Mandarin, can play the guitar, and is skilled in imitating voices.

Yoohyeon was a former member of MINX. She also participated in the survival show MIXNINE and ranked 96th. Yoohyeon appeared in the MV for Hyunsoo & Jinyoung HNB - Falling In Love. She is a big fan of Sunmi and even wrote a letter to her. Yoohyeon is also a model and has walked the runway several times. Yoohyeon and Handong are the tallest members in the group.

Dami was born in Seoul, South Korea on March 7, 1997. The real name owner Lee Yoobin is the main rapper and sub-vocalist in the group. She is also a former member of MINX who participated in the survival show MIXNINE and ranked 98th. She once won a choir competition in Korea, and since then she has dreamed of becoming an idol.

Dami is a fan of the manga or anime ONE PIECE. She studies the martial art of kendo and loves books, always reading wherever she can. Her favorite author is Murakami Haruki. Dami likes animals and hopes to become a breeder. She also hopes to be able to raise a bear. Dami has an older brother who is a soldier.

7. Gahyeon

Gahyeon, whose real name is Lee Gahyeon, is the youngest member in the group. She was born on February 3, 1999 in Seongnam, South Korea. Her position in the group is vocalist and rapper.

Gahyeon and Handong are the two new members who joined to complete Dreamcatcher. She studied in the Philippines for several months and is skilled in mathematics. She can imitate the laughter of Spongebob cartoon. She is also an expert in making seaweed soup.
