Paul Ahn or better known by the name Ahn Hyo Seop was born on April 17, 1995 in Seoul, South Korea. He has an older sister who is an accountant and an older brother who works as a pharmacist. Despite being of South Korean descent and born in the land of Ginseng, Ahn Hyo Seop and his family have Canadian citizenship. This is because Ahn Hyo Seop and his family moved to Canada when he was 7 years old and lived in Toronto for several years, which gave him Canadian citizenship.

The parents of Ahn Hyo Seop value education for their children. Therefore, Hyo Seop initially did not aspire to enter the entertainment industry. However, he decided to return to South Korea at the age of 17 when he received an offer from an agency. It is known that the parents and family of Hyo Seop were still in Canada when he decided to return to South Korea. When he arrived in South Korea, he had trouble speaking Korean. Despite his love for music, he also felt that his singing skills were not sufficient. So he chose to focus more on acting. Ahn Hyo Seop made his acting debut through the drama SPLASH SPLASH LOVE in 2015. In the same year, he also became one of the cast members of the variety show ALWAYS CANTARE 2. After that, he played supporting roles in ONE MORE HAPPY ENDING, HAPPY HOME, and ENTERTAINER in 2016.

His popularity skyrocketed once again after starring in the drama DR.ROMANTIC 2 with Lee Sung Kyung in 2020.
