Raisa Invites Sam Kim to Collaborate Through Single 'Someday'

Kapanlagi.com - At the end of this year, Raisa released her latest work. Not half-hearted, this time she invited a South Korean musician who is also known as a soundtrack singer for Korean dramas, Sam Kim, to collaborate. Their duet song titled Someday was officially released on November 12.

The reason Raisa invited Sam Kim to collaborate is because she is a fan of his song Love Me Like That. She dared to contact Sam Kim first through Instagram DM. Raisa did not expect to immediately get a positive response from Sam Kim.

"Basically, because I am a fan of Sam, his album, and his songs, I have recommended his songs to many musician friends. Then I said (to the label), how about collaborating with him. This could be something. Then they contacted Antenna (Sam Kim's label), I contacted Sam through Instagram DM," said Raisa during a press conference at CGV FX Sudirman, Central Jakarta, Friday (11/12).

Besides being a fan, Raisa is also confident that her collaboration with Sam Kim can produce great music. She is grateful that this collaboration process went smoothly even though they were separated by distance, Jakarta-Seoul.

"Actually, I didn't have any plans to collaborate with international artists this year. But when I frequently listened to Sam Kim's songs, I thought it wouldn't hurt to approach him because it seemed suitable. And why not, he seems like a true musician. He's not the type who is followed by paparazzi, he's truly a musician from what I initially observed and it turned out to be true," said Raisa.

"So, it seems like if we collaborate on good music, it could work. It seems like he's willing and fortunately, when he heard my songs, he liked them and immediately agreed the next day. Thankfully, there were no special tricks in the beginning," she continued.

2. Sam Kim's Thoughts on the Song Someday

Meanwhile, Sam Kim also praised Raisa as an extraordinary singer. They often chat and exchange music references, which eventually resulted in the song Someday.

"She is an extraordinary person, an extraordinary singer. In our first zoom meeting, I made her wait. She gave me another chance. I remember asking so many questions like what this song should be about," said Sam Kim in a virtual interview.

"Someday is about, you know, loving someone and knowing that they love you. But maybe you spend too much time, too comfortable, egos start to appear, both feeling the same thing. You want that love to be conveyed, but you don't want to express it first. You hope your partner will do it first," concluded Sam Kim.
