Rose Reveals Reasons for Choosing the Title 'LIGHT UP THE SKY' for BLACKPINK's Documentary Film

Kapanlagi.com - BLACKPINK has released their first documentary film titled BLACKPINK: LIGHT UP THE SKY. The film was released on Wednesday (10/14) at 14.00 WIB on Netflix.

A day before the release, BLACKPINK held an online press conference. The event was attended by all four members of BLACKPINK, Caroline Suh as the director, and Park Kyung Lim as the MC.

During the event, they were asked about the meaning behind the title LIGHT UP THE SKY. Rose explained that the phrase was taken from one of their song lyrics.

1. Meaning of LIGHT UP THE SKY

The owner of the name Park Chae Young explained that the title LIGHT UP THE SKY was taken from a part of the lyrics of How You Like That. She and the other three members admitted that they really liked the idea.

"When we were all together in the studio, Caroline Suh was also present on the phone. We have a song titled 'How You Like That', one part of the lyrics goes 'Light Up The Sky'. So when asked how to use those lyrics, we really liked it. In my opinion, it's very fitting and perfect," Rose said.

2. Hopes for the Coming Year

Furthermore, Jisoo also expressed their hopes for 2021 and the next 10 years. The SNOWDROP drama actress explained that the documentary film LIGHT UP THE SKY is their first step.

"We just released a new album and we did our best for it. We will continue to challenge ourselves and discuss what else we can give to the world. We will give our best for the music to the fans," said Jisoo.

"And the documentary film LIGHT UP THE SKY, which will be released on October 14, is our first step that we can give to the fans. I hope we will continue to be BLACKPINK in the next 10 years, as we always have. I can imagine us talking about new things to do together," she added.
