Kapanlagi.com - Sad news comes from the K-Pop industry. According to a press release by CL's agency Team Very Cherry, it was mentioned that CL's mother suddenly passed away due to a heart attack on January 23, 2021.
"Hello, this is Team Very Cherry. CL's mother, Hong Yu Ra, passed away due to a heart attack on January 23 while she was staying abroad. The funeral will be held for three days starting from February 10, and the funeral procession will take place on February 12," wrote Team Very Cherry, as reported by Koreaboo.
"Due to the serious situation regarding COVID-19, the funeral will be held privately only with family and close relatives. Please send comfort and support to CL in these moments. May she rest in peace," they continued.

As is known, CL rarely highlights her personal life in public. Therefore, not much is known about the former 2ne1 member's family.
However, CL once shared a photo of her late mother on her private Instagram account in April 2013. In the black and white photo accompanied by the caption 'I love you mom', the late Hong Yu Ra can be seen smiling towards the camera.
