Samuel and Brave Entertainment Give Contradictory Arguments Regarding Contract Issues

Samuel Kim, also known by his full name Samuel Arredondo Kim, is a 19-year-old man born on January 17, 2002. Samuel Kim is a solo singer in Korea and is known for his singing, rapping, and dancing talents. Samuel has Korean-Mexican heritage, giving him a Western vibe.

In 2019, Samuel signed a contract with Brave Entertainment. However, Samuel decided to promote himself as an independent artist. The agency responded by announcing that Samuel's decision was unilateral and that they plan to take legal action. Mother and Samuel's lawyer then revealed that the singer had filed a legal complaint against Brave Entertainment. 

However, the complaint failed to proceed legally, after their attempt to terminate the contract with the agency failed. This was deemed to be able to harm or violate trust. This is what caused the agency and Samuel to engage in conflict, leading them to legal action.

As reported by Soompi, on August 25, 2021, a hearing was held for Samuel to cancel his contract with Brave Entertainment. During the hearing on August 25 at the Seoul Central District Court, Samuel stated that he did not receive proper payment statements from Brave Entertainment and was forced to participate in the CEO's private event as some of the reasons to cancel his contract. 

However, Samuel's lawyer stated, "Brave showed Samuel his payment statements in December 2018, but it was different from the payment statement revealed through this trial. There is a difference of 250 million Won. In response, Brave Entertainment's lawyer commented, "This is not true. Also, the income from Kim Samuel's activities did not even reach the break-even point and the difference with the amount in the newly released payment report is very small. Lawyer Samuel also argued, "Brave forced Kim Samuel to release a single for a blockchain related event." Brave Entertainment responded, "We are dedicated to all of our tasks including management and investment tasks that are not taken lightly for the growth of our artists. We maintain a legal contract with Samuel and do not treat him unfairly. We will take legal action in accordance with the legal process."

Until now, there has been no clarity on the existing issues between Samuel Kim and Brave Entertainment. This makes the contract issues between Samuel and Brave Entertainment still in a state of confusion. The agency that oversees Brave Girls is also an agency that has grown rapidly after the popularity of Brave Girls reached its peak.
