Theory of Fans About the Delay of 'Monster' MV by Seulgi and Irene RED VELVET Appears Based on This Evidence

Kapanlagi.com - Previously, SM Entertainment announced that the album and MV Monster Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi would be released on July 6 at 18:00 local time. However, when the time came, the highly anticipated music video did not appear.

After 6 hours without any explanation, SM Entertainment finally announced that the release of the MV Monster would be postponed until 12:00 noon local time on July 7. However, they never provided an explanation for the delay.

The fans did not stay silent about this uncertainty. After investigating various evidence they found, ReVeluv seems to have found a clue as to why the MV Monster was not released until 18 hours after the scheduled time.

1. Missing Scenes

According to Koreaboo, the Monster MV is classified as suitable for ages 15 and above due to its mature theme, including horror and violent scenes. In some clips, for example, Seulgi can be seen holding a gun. This scene appears in one of the MV teasers, but sharp-eyed ReVeluv fans quickly noticed that there is another scene in the teaser that strangely does not appear in the MV.

The missing scene is Irene holding a knife right in front of her face. The scene that drove ReVeluv crazy in the Monster teaser cannot be found in the MV. As a result, fans speculate that the Monster MV may have originally contained extremely brutal scenes that were deemed unsuitable for release, prompting SM Entertainment to edit it before its release.

2. Other Evidence

In addition to the scenes in the teaser, ReVeluv still has some other evidence to support their theory. In a short behind-the-scenes video of the Monster MV, Irene can be seen standing in front of a wall full of knives. This footage suggests the possibility of a knife-throwing scene.

Furthermore, fans also noticed that one scene in the MV was shot in a very unusual way. This scene appears to be edited to make it look like Irene is stabbing a piece of paper with scissors. However, ReVeluv speculates that the original scene may have shown Irene stabbing Seulgi.

3. Dark Theme Subscription

The dark theme brought by Red Velvet is not something new for ReVeluv. Previously, the MV Peek-a-Boo also featured many sharp weapons and Seulgi covered in blood after Irene lifted a razor. However, there has never been a scene showing Irene directly injuring Seulgi.

The removal of some scenes that were supposed to appear in the MV Monster seems to have been done by SM Entertainment to maintain the video's age classification at 15. Although this theory by fans sounds plausible, there has been no clarification from SM Entertainment so far.
