Scheduled to air in June 2025, Squid Game 3 is touted to have a major surprise as the final season of the Squid Game series.

If Squid Game was brutal in the first two seasons, director Hwang Dong-hyuk explained the presence of a baby’s cry in the third season.

This baby’s cry seems to suggest that Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri) might be giving birth to her child. This was also addressed by the director.

"You may have heard the baby’s cry in the trailer, so people are assuming that there might be a baby (there)," said Hwang Dong-hyuk as quoted by Entertainment Weekly on Friday (23/5/2025).

Although it does not provide detailed information on whether the baby will be born inside or outside the game, it has a leak regarding the baby's voice.

"This baby plays a very important role in season 3, not only for Jun-hee but also for the fate of everyone involved. You can look forward to it," she briefly mentioned.
