1. Hongbin's Controversy

Last February, while broadcasting on the Twitch platform, Hongbin made statements that were considered controversial by some netizens. While drinking alcohol, Hongbin made statements about several songs from SHINee, Red Velvet, EXO, and Infinite that angered fans of those groups.

Hongbin has apologized for his statements through a broadcast on Twitch and in writing. Jellyfish Entertainment agency also apologized. Since then, Hongbin has temporarily taken a break from the entertainment world.

2. Hongbin Update on Twitch

After being on hiatus for months, on Thursday (6/8/2020), Hongbin uploaded a long post on Twitch. From his statement, he gave a hint that he wants to return to activities.

"I hope to make broadcasts that can make many people laugh and have comfortable conversations, like before. I may still be unprofessional and make mistakes from time to time, but I will do my best so that you can enjoy my broadcasts. Sorry for making you wait for so long. See you soon."

3. Hongbin's Departure

On Friday (7/8/2020), it was Jellyfish's turn to make a statement. They announced that Hongbin has officially left VIXX.

"We want to thank the fans who love VIXX. We are saddened to bring sad news. Hongbin has expressed his desire to leave the group after 7 years. After discussions with other VIXX members and Hongbin, we have decided to respect his opinion and agree to let him leave."

4. Hongbin Apologizes

After Jellyfish issued a statement, Hongbin went live on Twitch. Here, he apologized for his decision.

"I sincerely apologize to my fans since I was still in VIXX, because it is indeed my fault and this also happened because of my mistake. So I apologize. But, I don't think it's right if I post on the fancafe and say, 'This has happened, my contract has been terminated, because of this reason'. I don't want to ruin that place with such a post," he said.

5. Ravi Also Posts Status

After Hongbin apologized, his former teammate, Ravi, uploaded a status on Insta Story. He thanked the fans.

"I feel the need to be careful in my words. Thank you all for being by my side now. I hope you all support us to have more happy times than painful ones. I hope you have a beautiful night," Ravi wrote.
