Touching Story of Roku Kuroi, a Japanese Adult Film Star who Almost Committed Suicide Due to Bullying

In an interview on the Nobita from Japan YouTube channel, Roku opened up about her life as an adult film star. Before that, she had a regular job that she felt was not aligned with her passion.

"Every day, I was doing a job that I didn't feel comfortable with, and without realizing it, I would be 40 or 50 years old. When I imagined that life, I thought, 'What is the meaning of life?'. Then I wanted to do something that I really wanted and could do in my youth. And for me, that was porn," Roku revealed during the introduction session.

1. Formerly Working as a Nurse and Almost Committing Suicide

Before becoming a hot film star, Roku used to work as a nurse in a hospital. However, during that time, the days were so difficult and full of dark stories that it even made him contemplate suicide.

"I used to work as a nurse in a hospital. But it was really tough for me to adapt to the environment. I was bullied by senior nurses quite badly. And because we were short-staffed, the working environment was really bad. That's why I became physically and mentally exhausted. I couldn't take it anymore, so I eventually quit that job. At that time, I even almost committed suicide," Roku recalled.

2. The Beginning of Entering the Adult Film Industry

Afterward, Roku began telling his story of entering the adult film industry. Although he initially felt hesitant, after trying it, he became addicted and determined to make it his main job.

"At first, I wasn't really serious about trying it. But when I appeared in an adult film for the first time, I felt that this job was suitable for me. So I made up my mind to go to Tokyo and become a pornstar. Initially, I auditioned for an adult film, and then I was recommended to join a porn agency, so I joined," Roku continued.

3. Feeling Very Happy Because of Praise

In doing her job as a hot film star, Roku always goes all-out. As a result, she often receives various kinds of praise. From there, Roku feels that her life has changed 180 degrees and she is truly happy in her work.

"The reason why I feel very happy is because I have never been praised by anyone while growing up. When I look back, I always feel like a burden and hinder other children in my class. So I always became the subject of bullying throughout school. I was always called a failure as a human being," she recalled.

5. Decreasing Self-Confidence

Although she has done her best and finally entered midwifery school, Roku continues to experience unpleasant treatment from people around her. While crying, Roku admitted that she is very grateful to be able to enter the adult film industry which has given her happiness.

"Fortunately, at least I am not too bad at studying, so I can enter midwifery school and become a nurse. But when I started working there, my mistakes were constantly exposed day by day. My self-confidence also began to decline, so I really started to believe that I am a failed human being and completely useless to society. But when I appeared in an adult film, for the first time in my life, I thought maybe I don't need to die. I'm sorry I couldn't hold back my tears," she concluded.
