Update on Taeil's Sexual Harassment Case, Charged with Raping a Drunk Woman

Amid the curiosity, the police have finally begun to speak out about the harassment case involving Taeil. Here is the police statement that will be updated continuously as new information arises!

1. Victim Not Minor

The Bangbae Police Station confirmed on Wednesday night (28/8/2024) that they are investigating Taeil regarding sexual harassment. "This investigation has nothing to do with sexual harassment against underage victims of the same gender," stated the Bangbae Police Station.

"I am currently at home after work, so I cannot provide information that will be uploaded to the server tomorrow," said Lee In Chun, head of the Women and Youth Division at the Bangbae Police Station.

2. Investigation Since June

On Thursday morning (29/8/2024), the Bangbae Police Station provided some information regarding the Taeil case. They stated that they have been investigating Taeil since June.

To KBS as reported by Koreaboo, they also stated that Taeil has been charged in a sexual harassment case that cannot be disclosed at this time.

3. Adult Female Victim

Continuing the statement from the day before regarding the victim Taeil, the Bangbae Police Office stated that the victim is an adult female. The police have not provided specific details or when the sexual assault occurred.

4. SM Clarification Again

SM Entertainment has spoken out again regarding the Taeil harassment case. According to SM, Taeil was aware that he was reported in mid-August, which made the agency only then realize there was an issue. Therefore, Taeil was still able to participate in the NCT 127 comeback and fanmeet.

"The agency and Taeil are aware that this case is being prosecuted in the middle of this month. Taeil underwent police questioning on August 28," said SM.

5. Charged with Rape Case

On October 7, 2024, reported by Chousun Ilbo, Taeil was confirmed to be under investigation for special rape allegations. Taeil's case has been referred to the prosecutor's office without detention.

Taeil is accused of sexually assaulting a woman who was intoxicated along with two associates who are not from the celebrity circle. This investigation has been ongoing since June.
