Kapanlagi.com - Who doesn't know the Japanese animated series, Doraemon? Both children from the 90s generation and millennials must be familiar with this popular and legendary title. Both in the past and now, several television stations still frequently broadcast it.
It is not without reason that this animation by Fujiko Fujio has become so popular. One of the reasons, of course, is the story of friendship between Nobita and a robot cat from the future who has various unique tools in his magical pocket.
Recently, the Doraemon series has become a hot topic on social media. The reason is because there is a woman named Midorino Mushima who created a petition on change.org to remove some scenes that she deemed inappropriate to be broadcasted.
"We are former children who really liked Doraemon and now we have become parents who want to introduce Doraemon to our children. We have learned many things from Doraemon, starting from friendship to bravery. And we want to teach these things to our children," wrote Midorino in the opening of her petition.

The story is that Midorino feels that the scene of Nobita peeping on Shizuka bathing should not be shown. The reason is that it is considered a form of sexual harassment and can be imitated by children who watch it.
"However, there are several problematic scenes in Doraemon, namely the scene of Nobita peeping on Shizuka bathing. This behavior falls into the category of sexual harassment, not just a bad habit. This is an example of behavior that can cause trauma to women who become victims and can cause prolonged fear for them to bathe or simply interact with the opposite sex," explained Midorino.

Midorino started her petition on December 3, 2020, with a target of obtaining 5000 approval signatures by March 31, 2021. As of the time this news was published, there are already more than 14 thousand people who have approved the petition, and the target has now increased to 15 thousand.
"Therefore, we request the following 5 things:
1. When creating new works, please refrain from involving peeping scenes in the bathroom.
2. When making new films, please refrain from involving scenes of naked women, including Shizuka.
3. When re-airing old episodes on TV, try to avoid peeping scenes in the bathroom as much as possible.
4. When such scenes cannot be avoided, please add a disclaimer if what is happening is illegal.
5. Do the same for other sexual crimes, such as peeking at underwear and the like," she concluded.
Of course, the petition created by Midorino has sparked a huge controversy. Are KLovers themselves yay or nay? Write your comments!
